European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP) Open Stakeholder Workshop and Plenary Meeting held in Belgrade on 28th and 29th November
On 28th and 29th November, RATEL will host ERGP open stakeholder workshop for stakeholders from the postal and other related sectors and ERGP Plenary meeting for postal regulators, which will be attended by participants from 36 countries and European Commission representatives.
At the opening ceremony, the stakeholders were addressed by Ms Stefana Miladinovic, Deputy-Chair of the Serbian Parliament Committee for Special Planning, Traffic, Infrastructure and Telecommunications, Mr Vladica Tintor, Director of RATEL, Mr Robert Pochmarski from EC DG Grow and Mr Jack Hamande, ERGP Chair 2018.
ERGP open stakeholder workshop: “The postal framework - views from within and outside the EU”, organized by ERGP, European Commission and RATEL is held on the first day and attended by over 170 postal market stakeholders from the EU and the region. The workshop which consists of three main sessions will be an opportunity for Stakeholders from the postal, and other related sectors to exchange views on topics which are crucial for the future of the postal market and related regulatory tools.
During the first session, moderated by the EC representative, the latest results of the study on the EU cross-border e-commerce parcel market (conducted by WIK-Consult) have been presented and discussed.
The second session, moderated by RATEL's Director, is dedicated to the challenges in postal market regulation and, also, to the ways non-EU countries are preparing themselves to adapt their regulatory frameworks to the evident changes in global, European and national markets.
The third session, moderated by ERGP Chair 2018, addresses the review of the regulatory framework for the postal sector and the future of the Postal Services Directive. Discussion on current and potential forms of cooperation between EU and other European countries in order to develop the postal services market will also take place.
ERGP Plenary Meeting will take place on the second day and it will be attended by the postal regulators for the EU Member States and ERGP Observer countries, including Serbia.
