RATEL’s representatives discuss future projects with Minister of Information and Telecommunications

Chairman of the Managing Board of the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communication and Postal Services, Dragan Kovačević and Director of RATEL, Dragan Pejović, met with Minister of Information and Telecommunications in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mihailo Jovanović.

Minister Jovanović and RATEL’s representatives discussed the current activities and agreed that elaboration of a draft Law on Electronic Communications should be a top priority in the near future, making it possible for the bill to be presented to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in the shortest delay.

During the meeting, the Ministar announced the formation of a working group tasked with drafting of the final version of the Draft Law on Electronic Communications, composed of experts from RATEL, Serbian Chamber of Commerce, NALED, Foreign Investors Council, National Convention on the European Union and Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media. They will be entrusted with aligning the draft law with the suggestions and comments of the European Commission.

In addition, publication of data sets from the National Open Data Portal was discussed, since both the Ministry and  RATEL generate big quantity of important data for the citizens and businesses. They also agreed that these information needed to be visualized in order for the citizens of the Republic of Serbia to be able to understand the significance of further development of electronic communications.
