ITU publishes 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index list
The Republic of Serbia has ranked on the 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index list among the best rated countries in this area. By means of the Global Cybersecurity Index, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) follows and analyzes progress of every country through five key dimensions, namely: legal and regulatory aspects, technical measures, organizational aspects, capacity development and cooperation, realized by each country on the international level, as well as between state institutions and private companies. These measures offer an insight into the scope and efficiency of national strategies pertaining to cybersecurity.
Serbia was placed in category Tier 1, out of the total of five groups, together with countries recognized as the leaders in the area of cybersecurity. All countries listed in Tier 1 scored between 95 points and the maximum 100. The Republic of Serbia, with 96.82 points, has taken the lead among the countries of Southeast Europe.
RATEL, as the National CERT, continues to contribute, within the scope of its competencies, to the improvement of information security in the Republic of Serbia through coordination, prevention and protection from security risks in ICT systems on the national level, by raising awareness and applying educational measures, as well as through cooperation with relevant institutions and organizations.
