RATEL at 40th PostEurop General Assembly jubilee session

The 40th PostEurop (Association of European Public Postal Operators) General Assembly and the accompanying PostEurop Business Forum took place on October 16 and 17, 2024 in Belgrade, and were hosted by the Public Enterprise „Post of Serbia“.

At the event’s opening, the European postal industry development plans and challenges faced by the postal sector were discussed. The attendees were addressed by the Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristić, Chairwoman of the PostEurop Board of Directors Elena Fernández Rodríguez, Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Jelena Begović, acting director of the PE ,,Post of Serbia“ Zoran Anđelović and PostEurop Secretary General Botond Szebeny. The opening ceremony was also attended by Dragan Pejović, director of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services.

Beside statutory issues, one of the topics at the conference was the advancement and implementation of AI technologies, with the purpose to innovate the postal industry and modernize its services.

PostEurop was founded in 1993 and it gathers European public postal operators (PPOs), with the principal aim to support postal development through the implementation of strategic projects of interest to the European PPOs. This year, representatives of 55 PPOs from 53 PostEurop member states convened at the conference, as well as high officials of international postal organizations and the Republic of Serbia, including representatives of relevant national and international institutions.
