Dr Dražen Lučić, President of the Council of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) and Domagoj Jurjević, Deputy President of the Council, discussed with the representatives of RATEL the present and future cooperation between the two institutions.

„Even though the last official meeting of the two Agencies’ representatives was held in 2014, activities regarding implementation of the Technical Agreement on the RF Spectrum Coordination are carried out, as well as mutual exchange of experience in the domain of market regulation. Our intent is to intensify the cooperation, especially in the segment of RF coordination, to help each other run business more smoothly, to the satisfaction of both users and operators“, said Dr Vladica Tintor, director of RATEL.

At the meeting, several topics were discussed: situation on the telecommunications market in this part of Europe and perspectives of the electronic communications development, cooperation between the Agencies within international organizations, experience regarding the alignment with the EU regulatory frame, applications of the universal service obligation in the telecommunications and postal sectors. In the following period, the two Agencies will focus on the coordination regarding digital television frequency bands, introduction of digital radio, exchange of experience regarding user protection, infrastructure mapping and development of broadband Internet access in underdeveloped areas.
