International Cybersecurity Challenge Conference

RATEL's representatives participated in the Cybersecurity Challenge Conference, held on March 26, 2018 in Sofia. The conference was part of the official program of the First Bulgarian Presidency of the European Union Council, jointly organized by the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications and the State eGovernment Agency of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The main purpose of the conference was to discuss cyber security and cyber resilience as a strategic priority in all European Union countries. The conference was attended by over 150 delegates from the government sector, private business and non-governmental organizations from Europe.

Guests at the official opening of the conference were the Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Maria Gabriel and Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister, Tomislav Donchev. Among the panelists were the Executive Director of the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA), Udo Helbrecht, the Acting Director of CERT-EU, Ken Ducatel, and other experts in the field of information security.

The program is divided into four panels:

1. European Cybersecurity Ecosystem
2. Internet Security
3. Achieving Cyber Resilience - Crisis Response Management at Technical and Operational level
4. Changing the Mindset - Way to Gain True Cyber Resilience Through Cooperation at the Strategic, Political level

RATEL's delegation, through discussions with other delegates, initiated the inclusion of the National CERT in all forms of cyber security cooperation that are available to the country which is a candidate for accession to the European Union.
